An exploration of the Njords of Norway, Svalbard and Spitsbergen.
I recently returned from exploring the Fjords of Norway, and a small ship expedition of Svalbard and Spitsbergen with Quark Expeditions.
Highlights included a full circumnavigation of Spitsbergen, sightings of 13 polar bears, plentiful walrus encounters, braving the artic waters during the polar plunge and viewing pristine glaciers that stretched as far as the eye could see...
Uniworld River Cruise.
A fantastic opportunity to cruise from Amsterdam to Basle on their beautiful flagship SS Antoinette on their most popular night itinerary - Castles on the Rhine. Fabulous food, sightseeing and company. This was one of the best cruises I have been fortunate enough to experience...
There's something wonderful about having a Eurail pass over a European summer and I took the opportunity for a personal three week holiday to explore places I had only dreamed about, Portofino, Venice and Croatia. I travelled solo and had an Italian rail pass, booking key reservations as it was the peak of summer and flew into Milan and out of Zurich...
Kenya and Tanzania
Two weeks exploring the Masai Mara and Serengeti would have to be one of the most incredible trips i have ever been on. We did a variety of ''fly in' and road safaris and stayed at a variety of permanent tented camps in beautiful accommodation with &Beyond and Sanctuary Retreats as well as Nimali Lodge in Tarangire...
ITALY - FROM COAST TO COAST
In 2017, I spent two weeks travelling through Italy. Being my second trip to this beautiful country it was fantastic to get the opportunity to visit some different area's that I hadn't yet had the chance to see.
We spent a fantastic few days in Rome and DEFINITELY recommend the skip the line passes for the Vatican and Colosseum. The Sistine Chapel was absolutely incredible and absolutely blew me away!
In my 20's I spent some time island hopping round the Greek Islands which was so fantastic, my husband, daughter and I are heading back...
In 2019 I travelled to the USA for a special reason - I married my husband just outside of Las Vegas at Red Rock Canyon.
In 2018 I travelled to India to explore the Golden Triangle with Trafalgar Travel. This was my first coach touring experience, and my first experience of India - I have always heard you either love or hate India and I was vey unsure what to expect!
I was lucky enough to travel to Sri Lanka with Singapore Airlines and the wonderful Innovative Travel back in 2016.
From the rich culture, lush landscapes, incredible food and golden beaches, Sri Lanka was an absolute travel highlight for me!
Egypt and Jordan 2013 - Fabulous highlights included Cairo and the Pyramids, Ras Mohammed National Park, and also to the lost city of Petra in Jordan. |
Rarotonga is such a special place. The people are so friendly and chilled out, and the pristine beaches are the perfect backdrop for serious relaxation. |
Thailand - My first experience to Asia was a month travelling in Thailand. Flying in and out of Phuket and I travelled up to Bangkok and Koh Phangan, and also spent time at Koh Phi Phi, along with daytrips to Coral Island and James Bond Island. |
European 3 Month Journey |
U.S.A 2009
I took two months travelling around America.
My travels included California and the West Coast with most times spent in L.A,
San Francisco, the Napa Valley, Yosemite National Park and Las Vegas.
In 2023 I travelled for the first time as a family with my 3 month old and husband to Fiji. I was definitely nervous - travelling with kids always looked like it had it's own special set of challenges, and I'd say that was absolutely the case.
My first trip to Palma de Mallorca in 2019 stole my heart—and it’s still one of my favorite spots!
In 2023, I worked aboard a classic sailing yacht that sailed from Mallorca to Bodrum, then spent over a month exploring Turkey's stunning South Coast.
As part of my previous boat jobs, I’ve had the chance to explore many of Greece’s stunning islands, with the less-touristy ones and the Ionian being my absolute favourite! We spent a few days in Mykonos, where I soaked up the sun, indulged in delicious Greek food, and had a day to explore the island.
I first visited Italy in 2019, and though it was a short trip due to a prior illness, it left me craving more! I ticked off the iconic sights of Rome, including the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Stadio. While I didn’t get inside the Vatican, I made sure to enjoy some amazing pasta and gelato (pistachio, of course) in Vatican City.
I joined a whirlwind 10-day tour through Morocco in December 2023, and it was an adventure I’ll never forget!
