Nothing quite prepares you for the unexpected wonder of Machu Picchu. It’s a truly special, almost spiritual place. The best time to visit is at sunrise when the crowds are thinner, and you can watch the first light spill over the ruins—a magical experience. For stunning panoramic views, take the Inca Bridge trail to a breathtaking viewpoint. Just be sure to book your tickets months in advance, as daily entry is limited and sells out quickly. Other highlights of this South American journey include Cusco, a lively town with rich history and budget-friendly shopping, the Sacred Valley, and the breathtaking Lake Titicaca. Santiago, Chile, is also well worth a visit, offering a vibrant culture and some of the best cuisine and wine I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying.

I have been fortunate enough to visit Egypt twice and each time offered a new and unique experience. I love the juxtaposition of the Ancient Pharaohs mingled in with the bustling modern vibe of Cairo. The pyramids, wow, absolutely incredible and it is hard to keep your imagination in check when you are standing in awe of these amazing structures. The Egyptian museum in Cairo is a must, you can spend hours exploring the museum which showcase so many fascinating artefacts. The ancient and mysterious history of Egypt appeals to my sense of adventure and wonder, I would love to return to explore this diverse and unique country again. 

I love Africa, the sights, sounds and smells have a way of creeping into your soul.  I have been very fortunate to experience many wonderful and unforgettable safaris on this beautiful and vibrant continent.  The list is long when it comes to my African memories and the below is just a taste of what this amazing destination has to offer. 

Witnessing the annual wildebeest migration was an experience I will never forget. Thousands upon thousands of wildebeest stretched across the vast plains of the Masai Mara, poised at the edge of the Mara River, waiting for the perfect moment to cross. And when they did, chaos erupted—a breathtaking spectacle of movement and survival. Wildebeest, zebras, and other plains game surged forward in a frenzy, their thundering hooves kicking up clouds of dust, their calls filling the air. The sight of the darkened plains, the swirling dust, and the sheer energy of the migration was nothing short of mesmerizing. I count myself incredibly lucky to have witnessed this marvel of nature firsthand.

My teenage daughter and I just had the most unforgettable adventure in London and Paris! We had an absolute blast discovering the endless sights of London, and navigating the London Tube was a fun challenge we conquered together. London truly has something for everyone—it's a vibrant city brimming with history, culture, and excitement!

Then, we hopped on the Eurostar for a quick train ride to Paris—what a seamless way to travel between these two iconic cities! And of course, Paris lived up to every expectation. It's a stunning, romantic haven with mouthwatering food, exquisite wine, and a charm that’s impossible to beat. But the real highlight? We lost ourselves for hours in the Louvre—an awe-inspiring treasure trove of art and history. There’s simply no way to take it all in at once, but every corner we turned revealed something new and breathtaking! It was a trip we’ll never forget!
