Postcard from Bali

Postcard from Bali Courtney Cameron

In April 2024 I holidayed in Bali on an Intrepid tour. It was a small group tour of 12 people that started in Ubud. Exploring the rice fields, learning the Balinese culture & food, and seeing areas less travelled.

Conquering Mt Batuer at sunrise and white water rafting in a thunderstorm were just some of the special experiences I had.

As part of the tour I did an overnight homestay in a local village, being fully immersed in everyday Bali life.

A real highlight was a snorkeling excursion up north out of Lovina to Deer Island where there were wild deer sitting on the beach!

I finished with some relaxing days in Sanur - a beautiful less populated coastal area with wonderful restaurants and Bali street markets.

Off tour I spent some time in the popular Seminyak area, eating some amazing food at various beach clubs scattered along the stretch of beach. Enjoying a cold drink whilst watching some amazing sunsets.

With Air New Zealand now flying year round Bali will only increase in popularity as it has so much to offer everyone!
