My favourite holiday memories

  • Nashville and Memphis
    Tennessee Debby McRobbie

Visited Nashville & Memphis; Visited Nashville & Memphis; which sang to my soul and had a couple of days in Houston.  Just loved the Grand Ole Opry & the Honky Tonks on Broadway.  Visited Elvis in Memphis and  thoroughly enjoyed Beale Street with its bars and bands.  The music is fantastic and the food very interesting.  The locals love to show off their cities and they are a must do destination if only to buy some cow girl boots.  NASA was really interesting and a Baseball Game is a must do.

  • Vietnam
    Vietnam Debby McRobbie

November 2016 I had a fabulous 3 weeks in Vietnam with a side trip to Bintan Island.

Travelling with family & friends we visited Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, had a week beach break in Hoi An and a two night cruise in Halong Bay. I can recommend Intrepid's Urban Adventures sightseeing tour and the Hoi An Street Food tour was a highlight of our holiday.

  • Aitutaki, Cook Islands
    Aitutaki Cook Islands

Just had a lovely week in Aitutaki in September and highly recommend the Tamanu Beach Resort.  We had a fabulous villa close to the beach.  The staff are amazing and Dorothy in the Spa gives the best massage ever.   A highlight was the Teking Lagoon Snorkelling Cruise.  Lots of fabulous cafes and restaurants to tempt.

  • Brisbane
    Brisbane Debby McRobbie

Brisbane is definitely not a transit city.  Stay in Southbank and have easy access to all the city has to offer.

Brisbane is a city full of surprises. Home to a thriving food scene and vibrant culture, yet with that laid-back Queenslander attitude instead of the hustle and bustle mentality you find in most other capital cities.

What you may not realise is there’s a wonderfully varied group of precincts in Brisbane, just waiting to be explored. Like clusters of jewels dotted around the city, these little communities are filled to the brim with places to eat and drink, things to see and do, and their own unique personalities.

Conveniently connected by Brisbane’s buses, CityCats, trains and bridges, getting between them is a breeze, too.

Tangalooma Island is a must do whether as a day trip or stay for the weekend.  Close to the Gold Coast & Mt Tambourine.
