Our recent family adventure to Bali was nothing short of magical. Based in the heart of the action at the Hard Rock Hotel in Kuta, we had the perfect mix of relaxation, exploration, and pure family fun.
From the moment we arrived, the Hard Rock Hotel impressed us with its vibrant atmosphere. The amazing buffet meals kept everyone’s taste buds happy (special shoutout to the Indonesian satay and endless dessert options!), while the pool bar quickly became my personal favorite, especially with an ice-cold Bintang beer in hand.
The kids were constantly entertained with the hotel’s daily activities — from foam parties and rock climbing to the kids club and pool games. It was such a bonus knowing they were having a blast while we squeezed in some well-earned poolside relaxation.
Out and About in Bali
When we weren’t soaking up the sun at the hotel, we ventured out to explore the buzzing streets and markets of Kuta. Bright colors, handcrafted goods, and the smells of street food filled the air — every corner had something new to discover.
One of the trip’s highlights for the kids (and us!) was visiting the Mason Elephant Sanctuary. Getting up close and personal with these gentle giants was truly special. Not far behind in the favorites list was Bali Safari, where we enjoyed an unforgettable night meeting exotic animals up close and personal in beautifully recreated natural habitats.
No Bali holiday with kids would be complete without a splash at Waterbom Bali, and it was a massive hit with the whole family! From racing down the big slides to floating lazily along the lazy river, it was one of those rare days where the smiles never faded.
A Taste of Adventure
Wanting to explore a little deeper, we decided to hire a driver for the day — easily one of the best decisions we made. It was incredibly affordable and gave us the freedom to see parts of Bali we might have missed otherwise.
We visited a coffee plantation where we met the famous Luwaks — and learned all about how their unique coffee is made (yes, it’s brewed from beans that have passed through their digestive system!). Trying a cup was a true "when in Bali" moment... let’s just say it’s an acquired taste!
One of the most iconic experiences of the trip was swinging high over the rice fields. Suspended over lush green terraces, it felt like flying — and the views were nothing short of breathtaking.
Final Thoughts
Bali gave us the perfect blend of family fun, cultural experiences, and relaxation. The Hard Rock Hotel Kuta was an unbeatable base, the kids were entertained every day, and every adventure added another unforgettable memory.
We’re already dreaming about when we can go back!
