Postcard from Bali

Bali Alyssa Kane

After visiting Bali, I saw everything we know it for.. Beach Bars, Coloured Bean Bags & Umbrellas on the beach, Bintang, Rice Terraces, Monkey Forest’s and so much more! However, while visiting Bali, I got to experience all the hidden beauty that Bali has to show!

I went on an Intrepid Tour for 9 nights where we covered a large area, getting off the beaten track and getting to experience the Balinese Culture for what it really is!

Ranging from Local Village Ceremonies, Climbing Mt Batur before sunrise, Snorkelling in some of the warmest clear water with colourful fish galore, Learning how to make “Blessings” their colourful flower arrangements and visiting Menjangan Island (Deer Island) , a remote Island with nothing but roaming deer.

One memory and experience that I’ll remember forever was snorkelling in the warm clear waters over coral reefs, where there were thousands of colourful fish of all sizes! After snorkelling we then walked ashore were there were deer roaming and greeting us as the waves crashed on the beach. This was an experience unlike any other!!!

My second highlight had to be Staying in a local village with a host where we got to see how they live, and we spoke with google translate. We learnt some of the local language, how to play their musical instruments as well as trying their food and alcohol which are all made by their natural plantation and other food sources.
