Lovely to meet you
I love my job! I'm here to ensure each of my clients enjoys their travel experience from the moment they leave to the moment they return. If it's out there, I'll find it – so bring your travel wish list to me.
What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
When all the work comes to fruition! I love the rapport with my clients, and using my knowledge of them and the travel industry to lift their experience beyond their expectations.
What surprises clients about working with you?
How much goes on in the background to make everything run seamlessly. You might need to have a passport valid for at least six months. Or if you're taking an indirect flight to your final destination, you might need a visa even for just a quick stopover. This stuff is obvious to me; I check it automatically, so my clients have no concerns or unwelcome surprises.
What is your favourite service offered by House of Travel Milford?
It’s a complete end-to-end experience, from the moment you pick up the phone or come into the shop. It’s our job to make it feel special, whether you're going to Rotorua for a long weekend or a 100-day global cruise. It’s all the same. We're as excited as you are.
Where in the world is your favourite destination?
The Mediterranean - its climate, food and culture. There’s such rich diversity of Greek, Roman and Moorish.
What’s your favourite meal, and where?
Dinner at sunset. Fresh, locally-caught fish at a taverna on a Greek island, washed down with a cold beer.
What two items do you always take on holiday with you?
An open mind - to adapt and be prepared to experience things that are out of my norm. And someone to share it all with.
What’s your top “travel insider” tip?
Flexibility. If you're delayed for 12 hours, make it work for you. See if you can jump on a train from the airport and visit local attractions. View it as an opportunity not an obstacle.
